The 128th Boston Marathon showcased remarkable athleticism from runners representing over 100 countries. While most participants won’t claim prizes, a select few emerged as champions. Here are the winners:
Men’s Professional Division:
- Sisay Lemma from Ethiopia completed the race in 2:06:17.
- Mohamed Esa, also from Ethiopia, finished in 2:06:58.
- Evans Chebet from Kenya crossed the line in 2:07:22. Notably, he had previously secured victories in the Boston Marathon in 2022 and 2023.
Women’s Professional Division:
- Hellen Obiri of Kenya triumphed with a time of 2:22:37, securing her second consecutive Boston Marathon win.
- Sharon Lokedi, also from Kenya, completed the race in 2:22:45.
- Edna Kiplagat, another Kenyan athlete, finished in 2:23:21.
Men’s Wheelchair Division:
- Marcel Hug from Switzerland achieved a remarkable new course record of 1:15:33. This victory marks his seventh win in the Boston Marathon wheelchair division.
- Daniel Romanchuk of the United States completed the race in 1:20:37.
- David Weir from the United Kingdom finished with a time of 1:22:12.
Women’s Wheelchair Division:
- Eden Rainbow-Cooper from the United Kingdom completed the race in 1:35:11.
- Manuela Schär from Switzerland crossed the line in 1:36:41.
- Madison de Rozario of Australia finished with a time of 1:39:20.
Men’s Handcycle Division:
- Zachary Stinson from the United States completed the race in 1:04:46.
- John Masson, also from the United States, finished in 1:09:33.
- Dustin Baker from the United States crossed the line in 1:10:10.
Women’s Handcycle Division:
- Alicia Dana from the United States completed the race in 1:15:20.
- Edie Perkins, also from the United States, finished in 1:33:57.
- Devann Murphy from the United States achieved a time of 1:43:23.
Additionally, duo teams participated, with Julien Pinsonneault and May Lim from Canada completing the race in 2:54:43. Another duo, Shaun Evans and Shamus Evans, represented the United States12.
